Friday Favorites–St. Patrick’s Day

There are lots of reasons to love St. Patrick’s Day.  Green is a great color, and the rainbows are a nice touch.  I enjoy the recognition of Irish culture (which I’m sure is mangled beyond all recognition at this point by the commercial aspects, but still).  The food is tasty and the crafts are fun.  But one of my favorite things about the holiday is the fact that it’s the gateway to better weather!  Even though it’s technically before we leave the cold of winter, I consider it the first spring holiday of the year.  How’s that for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?

We tried these Irish Nachos from Closet Cooking last year, and I liked them more than I thought I would.  Delicious, and very filling!
